I don’t know how many of you have read the book, but here’s the deal: Frollo had a little brother named Jehan. And though Frollo is pretty cold and uncaring toward everyone else, he adored his baby brother. He practically raised the kid after their parents died, but despite this, Jehan was his opposite. Frollo spoiled him; he could never say no. And so Jehan never went to class, and he drank and gambled and was a general hooligan. He’d show up every couple of weeks to ask for money with increasingly ridiculous excuses.
And then Jehan died while involved in some gypsy scheme.
I think this is what happened in the movie — just before even the prologue. I think this is what drove Frollo to loathe gypsies so deeply. It would also explain why he was so harsh on Quasimodo. He let Jehan get away with everything, and he failed; his brother died. So he kept Quasimodo under an insanely iron rule and would not let the child do anything.
Fowler is another of those dual characters you love so much. He is Agent Fowler, the liaison to a race of giant alien government secrets, and he is also Bill, who resolves to lose weight every New Year’s and watches Hawaii Five-0 marathons.
He’s been an agent for a very long time. It’s more or less what he’s always wanted to do; he just didn’t know it would be so much of an office job. When he was younger (and fitter) he was the daring to-the-rescue type, always out for an adventure. Now he’s rather resigned himself to paperwork. On the other hand, he wouldn’t have volunteered to work with the Autobots if he didn’t still want a little excitement. It’s a bloody tiring job, and it demands his time and energy constantly, and he has to be strict and demanding with these Autobots or they’ll ignore the humans’ concerns. But he wouldn’t give it up for the world.
When he’s not busy being snappish and professional for the ‘Bots, though (which, granted, isn’t a lot of his time, as his job is his life), Fowler has a surprising capacity to relax. He likes to go out for drinks and joke with the guys from the office and go golfing, even though he’s horrible at it. (And I think it’s this side we’re starting to see in the show. Before the kids, the Autobots were a government concern, and somewhat unpredictable allies. Now… there’s something more human about them.)
At the end of the day, even though he gets more headaches than good nights of sleep, Fowler is darn proud of what he does.
So in the Captain America movie, Red Skull seems to know all about Asgard, that “magic” is just “awesome science,” that the Tesseract is related to Odin and all that. And he used to work with Dr. Erskine, so presumably Dr. Erskine knows that, too. So what if Erskine’s super soldier serum wasn’t just based on making a human awesome—what if they were trying to make a human more Asgardian? What if they had a sample to work with, some blood maybe, a hair, some tissue? What if it had come willingly from a tricky Asgardian out for Teh Lulz?
But Loki’s not really Asgardian, he’s part or all Jotunn. Which would make Captain America Jotunn enhanced. And that’s how he survived in the ice all those years.

Before he found out the secret of his birth, it wasn’t just envy that drove Loki. It was the role he made for himself.
I have this adorable face in mind. It won’t leave me alone, but I can’t exactly complain.
Ever since David told me about his (awesome, accurate) headcanon for Pyro, I’ve had this image — which is rare, because I usually don’t care or can’t picture what characters look like. I can’t draw well enough to show you this, so I’m just going to describe, to the best of my ability, the face of our most beloved firemonger.
He’s bony — not necessarily stick-thin, but he has sharp features, and he’s a bit on the gaunt side. Obviously, he’s terribly pale under the mask. He’s got a bit of scruff if he doesn’t shave, but overall his facial hair isn’t impressive. The hair on top of his head, on the other hand, is brown and thick and wiry, the sort that won’t quite stay down. His eyes are deep-set, and his cheekbones make his face look hollow. It would be creepy if he didn’t look so innocuous. Fortunately, he doesn’t seem very threatening; with his brow furrowed slightly all the time (except when he’s setting fire to things), he actually looks a bit nervous. He’s got this grin, too: it’s wide and big and bright, but not usual. His eyebrows stay up and he doesn’t just let his eyes squint a bit as they’re supposed to. It almost looks half like a grimace. But it’s very genuine, and very happy.
I have to love this face.
For all the things, as David suggested.
